Government Camp Multorpor Overpass Celebration

by Liz Warren

May 13 at 3:00 pm. the Clackamas County Board of Commisssioners will be celebrating the new over pass in Government Camp. This project was accomplished by the Government Camp Village Revitalization District. The celebration will take place on the North side of the Multorpor overpass.

The artwork is amazing on the bridge. Many panels were done by blacksmith Darryl Nelson. The new bridge notonly provides a backdrop of art but increases the access over to Multorpor which was badly needed with a dated narrow overpass.

Collins Lake Condo Lawsuit is Settled

by Liz Warren

The Collins Lake Condo Homeowners in Government Camp have been battling a lawsuit for some time and as of March 30, 2009 it appears a settlement has been reached. A defective construction has caused severe damage issues since construction was completed.

The remedy is reconstruction of the units-roofs mainly, which will begin May 1st through October-November depending how it goes. The entire resort will be shut down during this time frame to expedite repairs in a timely and efficient manner.

Government Camp Land Swap with Feds

by Liz Warren

I recently found anonline article about the Wyden Wilderness bill and the controversial Mt. Hood Meadows land swap. This involved trading future home developments in the Cooper Spur area for 120 acres of National Forest property near Government Camp. This came to the forefront a while ago with screaming headlines in the Oregonian but not much has been in the news since. Sounds like the the Hood River Valley Residents Committee has completed their task for conserving their side of the mountain.

There is also mention of increased wild and scenic rivers in our area plus an additional 128,000 acres of land to be added to the Mt. Hood Wilderness.

Is this the time to invest in that great ski chalet in Government Camp? All buyers would agree that the selection is exceptional right now. Take a look at today's Mt. Hood inventory. Call or email for any additional info on these great properties.

Government Camp Condo Sales

by Liz Warren

Many condos have hit the market in Government Camp with a total of twenty one currently for sale. This is a lavish amount of inventory to choose from! The majority offered are in the Collins Lake complex. This was the flagship project that spurred the Government Camp revitalization project into orbit and offered a massive amount of pent up demand for Government Camp affordable and "easy to use" units. Prior to this project there was few single family homes for sale and minimal condos on the market in Barlow Pass West, Edelweiss, Golden Poles, Thunderhead and Sno Bird Village. These were all small scale units compared to the newer Collins Lake project.

Multiple listing service of Portland shows one sale over the past three months for Condo units. This one was in Edelweiss in the heart of Government Camp and sold for $310,000.

If a condo is on your to do list this year, it's an excellent time to take advantage of low interest rates!

Golden Poles Condo Upgrades

by Liz Warren

Last winter, with record snows hitting the mountain from Government Camp to the Welches and Brightwood area, saw much destruction due to heavy snow loads. The snows ripped chimneys off roofs, colapsed decks, caused stresses and strains to many homes and buildings. One which suffered during the snow pack was the Golden Poles Condominiums in Government Camp.

Here is the latest look at exterior upgrades:
