Originally built in 1935 this cabin has been in the owner’s family since 1942. Their family has enjoyed this gem for 75 years. Original paned windows, vaulted ceilings plus a big stone fireplace and open living room make for a great place to sit back and relax. A cozy propane stove heats the living area. A vintage kitchen sits off the dining room area. Three cozy bedrooms brings plenty of room to sleep family and friends.
Off the living room area is a deck with benches so you can enjoy the sounds of Camp Creek which winds around Lot 21. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of city lights and noise, this is a great spot to wind down and get back to nature.
There are two outbuildings along with the cabin. One is a woodshed/storage area that holds a ton of wood. The second, called the “Little Cabin” is basically one room and houses a half bath with sink and can be used as a storage area. Once upon a time it was a bunk house but not any more. A natural stone walkway sits in front of the building with a path down to Camp Creek.
The “Five Gables” main cabin has a gated entry and shares the road in with three other cabins. There is no road noise from Highway 26 at this location and it’s a quick drive to local stores and restaurants and only 15 minutes to the slopes of Mt. Hood for premium skiing.
Five Gables is located just over an hour from Portland so it’s the perfect mountain getaway that’s easy to reach for your weekend away from the big city!
